CNC Octopus

In a team of four, we were tasked with designing, machining, and post processing a complete chess board and set. The parts were 3D printed to determine correct sizing. A CNC lathe was used to cut the profiles of all the parts. Manual and CNC milling would have been used afterwards to add character to each piece, and all parts were to be hydro-dipped to add a marbled effect.
Unfortunately due to the rapidly evolving nature of COVID-19 and the shutdown of the University of Pennsylvania this project was not completed. Plans are made to finish manufacturing when campus re-opens.
